A TASTE OF LIBERTY

Hi friends, I know it’s been long that I blogged. I apologize.

I have had to deal with a lot, have no secretary and our staff is really thin. I hope to settle down soon and getting back on blogging twice a week.

I am currently in the United States of America for both a discipleship training with the Keystone Project at South Dakota as well as enjoying vacation with the lovely friends the Lord has given me over the last few years.

So far my best experience is captioned in the title above. I would say I am having a taste of liberty.

The United States chief ideals are liberty and the pursuit for happiness. Looking back where I come, Africa, I think we have not had any of the two.

I will give you my first example is this. I have spent the last twenty-five years in three countries: Nigeria, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. In all these countries and in fact, all African countries, a citizen or the ordinary joe has not access to a mile without the Presidential Palace.

I arrived the United States on February 21 and the following day February 22 I was standing in front of the White House.

That was so incredible.

That was truly a taste of liberty. I felt like a caged bird let free. Finally, I felt important enough to stand in the presence of the President of the United States. And yet African Presidents don’t think we are important enough to get near the People’s House.

Now if coming before the White House gave me such and incredible feeling dignity and freedom, imagine how incredible it is to have freedom standing in the presence of the Father of our Lord Jesus and the Maker of the Universe?

When we come into the presence of God, we find freedom from sin, freedom for fear, freedom from sicknesses and diseases, we find freedom from the authority of death.

This feeling should be incredible.

In the presence of earthly rulers, we may not be qualified to stand before rulers of the earth, it is a great blessing to know that we have access to the Maker of all things.

When we stand in God’s presence we find:

a. We find mercy and love.

b. We find security.

c. We find life.

d. We find forgiveness and eternal life

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find ret for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden light."

Matthew 11:28-30

THE RICH FAMILY IN OUR CHURCH

I'll never forget Easter 1946. I was 14, my little sister Ocy 12, and my older sister Darlene 16. We lived at home with our mother, and the four of us knew what it was like to do without many things. My dad had died five years before, leaving Mom with seven school kids to raise and no money. By 1946, my older sisters were married, and my brothers had left home. A month before Easter, the pastor of our church announced that a special Easter offering would be taken to help a poor family. He asked everyone to save and give sacrificially. When we got home, we talked about what we could do. We decided to buy 50 pounds of potatoes and live on them for a month. This would allow us to save $20 of our grocery money for the offering. Then we thought that if we kept our electric lights turned out as much as possible and didn't listen to the radio, we'd save money on that month's electric bill. REPOSITIONING CAN MAKE YOU MORE EFFECTIVE

I tried to review the year, looking backwards at my pleasure and displeasure with the year. I also did try to see where I failed, underperformed or missed the mark both set by God or by my heart. I always like to do an honest self-appraisal. I bear in mind that either lavishing praises on myself or ignoring things that should be fixed are not to my advantage. Transparency may hurt but I stand to gain first before someone else. Here are a few things that I came to a conclusion on: 1. I need to make certain necessary adjustments or changes or repositioning either on my character, my commitment, my determination or my effort. This is non-negotiable. FIVE YEARS ON...

Today is the 5 th anniversary of the launch of the World Missions Africa Blog. When we launched on January 1, 2017, we had only on our hearts a message to share about the love of God through our Lord Jesus Christ and on our minds anxiety and questions if anyone at all will read the message we blog. Here was our first blog post published on January 3, 2017: “Welcome to our blog. World Missions, Africa is making every effort to bring the love of Christ to all humanity. We are so happy to have you here. Hopefully you can bring back to Africa the thirst for Liberty and the ability to pursue what makes you happy to the people of Africa.
I pray for you and all the struggles of the people of Africa every day.
I hope one day that we have an Africa that is free where people can live without fear of being murdered for their beliefs.
An Africa where peace and prosperity are abundant and strife and fear are a by gone memory.
With the help of God and the diligence of you and the African people, I believe this is a possibility.
I am so lucky to have met you on facebook many years ago and hope this is only the beginning of a life long friendship.

Hi Dave, love that so many doors are opening for you. Next time you come to America you must come to Texas.

Africa is in our prayers. Jesus is moving across the continent of Africa.
