TRUE JOY - ANNIVERSARY BLOG

B Y D A V I D M c Q U E L These three life necessities cannot be acquired through wealth or riches: hope, peace, and joy. Our world today knows more heartache than good news. The number of people whose hearts are broken daily is not even reflected in the number of suicides, because it far outweighs it. Among lovers, family and relatives, colleagues, teammates, or business partners, the stories and experiences of heartbreaks cannot be documented. That is because there will be no library enough to contain its volumes. Betrayal has become a norm rather than an exception. Parents betray children and children betray parents. The intimacy among couples, largely, is cosmetic and just for a show. Our media and relation tabloids are washed with detestable and jaw-dropping stories of harm and anguish that the heart finds disturbing. We have the political scene become more clueless than ever before. Men and women in politics are offering no hope in sight. In fact, they are telling us more broadly...

THE NEED FOR TODAY

B  Y   D  A  V  I  D   M c  Q  U  E  L Depositphotos Blog That we live in dangerous times is no revelation. However, how we navigate through it must be by revelation. We should live happy lives, glorifying God and successfully preparing our kids to face the world ahead of them successfully also. Among the many realities of today are:   The War Against Conventional Truth Truth is being replaced with feelings on a massive scale like never seen before. What we were thought while growing up as moral, biblical or civil truth is now bastardize and replaced with the lefts version of truth which is relative truth. Truth basic on emotions and sentimentalism. For a long time, promiscuity and sexual perversity was know to be immoral by all of society even those who didn’t go to church. Today, it is what you feel good that is truth.   The War Against Biblical Values It is fashionable now to dismiss any...

THE FLEETING GLORY I ONCE KNEW

B Y     J E A N I N E     K O N G O I have experienced a glorious past Not everyone is born in the church. While some were big pagans in a Christian body. Others have experienced the unimaginable. I am one of those who have known the world in a particular way and who have proudly shared it spicing it with exaggerations in front of other Christians "old bosses" just to “save face" in the debates about old times. There was this effort to give the impression that I was also an intimidating figure. This image is built upon many lies, or unspoken truths or things that people can easily believe without having to prove it ... (I know this terrain so well lol) Of what use are these "professional experiences" on a CV that is supposed to be dead at the cross? How should I boast of having been a hard time if I have now experienced real life in CHRIST? And I look upon all things as a loss, because of the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ...

FRIENDSHIP THAT WINS SOULS

BY  Z E N I T H A    V I C T O R I A    B A D A "You cannot excel in life if you want to go alone in life."                 Dr Jeffrey seif. I celebrate you all. Today I'd be talking on how friendship can bring others to Christ. Looking at the meaning of friendship from the Chrome dictionary it is defined as the relationship, bond, union between friends. These days people come into our lives and we are not sure how to categorize them, but I'll have you know that "Friends" are the most influential people in our life's that   either bring us down our pull us up. The bible speaking "Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces. " Proverbs 13:20 MSG. We need to learn to define our friend-ship with people, we need to know the the kind of "friends" we are letting into our "ship", so that when the wind blows we cou...

DEPRESSION AND CHRISTIAN GROWTH

By  Z E N I T H A   V I C T O R I A    B A D A I celebrate you all. Its an honor and a previlege to be given the opportunity to be part of this great platform. I pray that as we look into today's area of concentration, the Holy Spirit will minister to us. Today by God's grace I'll be talking about a very rampant and life-threatening issue: DEPRESSION AND CHRISTIAN GROWTH. As simple as it sounds it has taken a lot of lives. First I'll   like us to look into the meaning, using the Chrome dictionary.  D epression is defined as a feeling of severe despondency(low spirits from loss of hope or courage; dejection).  Its also a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.  In other words depression is a feeling of sorrow or discouragement caused by ANXIETY, and this is a way the devil is ruining lives and   turning   people away from God. As the Bible says in John 10:10...

FIVE ENCOUNTERS, SAME EXPERIENCE

D A V I D   P A M    M C Q U E L Gina the hairdresser A customer shared her story. Mrs. Fwanyil is one of her most loyal customers. For three-half years she has been a steadfast customer. But she knew two versions of Mrs Fwanyil. The first nineteen months of her visit to the salon, she was largely quiet and reserved. She was punctual in her visits, generous in her payments but just unsociable and unfriendly. Sometimes she looked troubled and then other times just normal. Even when she met other customers she was unengaging and indifferent. Then the next month she came in, Gina noticed a milder Mrs Fwanyil. She opened up, became more observant and sharing a concern for others once in a while. With time she was glowing more and more, showing a more happy person. Gina loved this new Mrs Fwanyil. In three months she was absolutely fabulous, giggling, laughing and even sometimes to tears. Gina was itchy, she wanted to know what happened. A...

THE MESSAGE

D a v i d   P a m   M c Q u e l   The work of the kingdom of God is basically done in words, but accompanied with actions. In we do only actions, lots of actions yet not accompanied by the gospel of salvation through Christ Jesus, we basically end up doing merely humanitarian acts that win the applause of the world and not necessarily noticed by God. Every action we do must be tied to witnessing the love of Christ. If I do good works yet do not point the beneficiaries to Christ, they will end up praising me as a good man, hence the glory comes to me and not Christ. Jesus in his last instructions said in Mark 16, "15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.  16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." The work He left behind for them was preach with words. They were to tell the world about Jesus. While the disciples where under apprenticeship, Jesus s...

THE CHRISTMAS OPPORTUNITY

By David Pam McQuel Merry Christmas! As we all are aware, the festive season is here. No matter what your religious or theological conviction is, you certainly cannot ignore the season. So much expectations, so much preparations and so many plans. Christmas is a time of joy for so many. Especially those who affiliate with Christianity and those who look forward to making financial gain from sales. For others it is the holiday attached to it. A much anticipated time of rest and social gatherings. Among Christians, the debate will rage again as to whether Christmas is biblical or pagan, how it all started, and how serious Christians should either be involved or abstain. While many write it off as a Catholic ritual and others see it as the Roman emperor Constantine defiling a thriving Church. And others argue vehemently on the exact month of birth of Christ. Surely the theological warfare is at boiling point. There are two things we need to focus on. 1. The fact...

THE FADING DARKNESS

By David Pam McQuel The people walking in darkness     have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness     a light has dawned. ~ Isaiah 9:2 Darkness, spiritual darkness covers the earth. I will present some of the lofty claims of ideological and religious that oppose faith in Jesus as the only hope of mankind. The only door 1Corinthians 1:18 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;     the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” 20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who ...

THE FAULTY CIRCLE

By David Pam McQuel Throughout the life span of the church there has been a continues circle. Its been a rollercoaster. The church will be on fire, great revival and an overwhelming expansion will come. The quality of commitment skyrockets. The passion for the things of God will be unparalleled. Then as the late Myles Munroe says, "the  greatest enemy of success is success". The church flourishes, and her prosperity becomes her bane. Everyone relaxes and she begins to pat herself at the back and singing her praises. Then management and administration takes centre stage and priority shifts from spreading the word to consolidation. Project Babel starts, and the church loses her call. Solidly, step by step, little by little we become at ease. Personal ambition, struggles for position, desire for fame and recognition come in and the spiritual life of the assembly is drained. With the  of the generation of the torchbearers, a new generation comes that had no experie...
