THE MISSIONS BOUND CHRISTIAN

By David McQuel It is amazing how many Christians are indifferent to missions. Looking closer, i notice that it is borne out of limited information on the place and need for Christian missions today. In fact, someone even dare say that the time of missionaries has passed. To assume that the gospel is already preached everywhere because there are three churches in your village is a capital deception. To help, here are Seven things you should know as a Christian regarding the kingdom and missions. 1. Jesus envisioned a missionary Church not a corporate church Matthew 28:19 «Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen." The only pursuit that Jesus left for the Church was missions. It was going to be the core and foundation of the life and effort of the ...

GO!

By David Pam McQuel A lot has changed about Christianity today from its initial conception. In as much as diversity and differences of understanding is a good thing and biblical, unity of the faith is ultimate. Paul said ministry gifts placed in church are for our edification and growth.  Ephesians 4:11 "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; And when we get matured to tne measure of the stature of Christ, it will show in "14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth i...

FUNDING THE CAUSE WE BELIEVE IN

By IDOABASI IKPO “Whoever goes to war at his own expense” 1 Corinthians 9:7a) “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent” (Romans 10:13-15a Emphasis mine). According to All Nation English Dictionary, cause is defined as an aim for which a person or a group works. A cause is an aim or principle which a group of people supports or is fighting for. If you say that something is in a good cause or for a good cause, you mean that it is worth doing or giving to. Funding is money which a government or organization or an individual provides for a particular purpose. A fund is an amount of money that is collected or saved for a particular purpose. When a person or organization funds something, they provide money for it. As followers of Jesus, do we believe in H...

Sensing A Call To The Mission Field?

God calls believers to different kinds of service as it's stated in Romans 12:3 "For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully." The church needs to teach people to find their place of service in God's kingdom. Te...

IT IS TIME!

Last week John was so much in a hurry that he couldn't see the traffic light!  Wasn't intentional but the police arrest you in spite of you great intentions. At the sight of the police stopping, he even got madder. He was all focused on getting to the meeting before his "no-nonsense" boss gets there. Carol set the her food on fire, gently paced to the living room barefoot to catch up with her daily soap. What an episode she watch yesterday! Now she wants to see what happened after that! Did the man die? What happened to his dog? How will that couple separate, she was lost into the television when the anger infesting smell of her burnt food hit her. She jumped hysterically but it was late. She ruin her meal. The two stories above have one thing in common, TIME. Jesus' mum requested a miracle for the wedding in Cana, from him. And Jesus said, 4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” Jesus knew his time had not come....

THE HINDERING DIVIDE

There is a great misconception in the church, it is the division that has set denominations against denominations. And this is a bad independent spirit that has hindered the church more than anything the devil could ever do. Jesus said, a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. This division has affected the love and fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ more. When two believers meet, they are more conscious of which denomination they belong to than which body they both belong. We are the body of Christ! One body! Paul said in 1Corinthians 12:12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it wou...

Easter 2016 in Memory

The Blood of Jesus Set Us Free. That is the greatest news!  For us at the World Missions Centre, Abidjan Ivory Coast, last year 2016's Easter was a great time of bringing to people the word of God, the gospel of salvation through Christ Jesus. Our team was out in Anono, an Ebrie Community in the heart of Abidjan the capital of the Ivory Coast. We were able to reach over 500 people in an open air preaching and one-on-one style evangelism as well as feed kids and adults with breakfast. We give God praise for all He did. Here are highlight of our humble state outreach. The truth is that many people heard the gospel and rejoiced at the word of the Lord. The Great Light

In 1993 during a pastor's retreat the Lord spoke to my heart in a moment of meditation and prayer, about one of the two passages of Scriptures that define my call. The moment was an intense one for me because just as my salvation, the baptism with the Holy Spirit and my calling to fulltime ministry, this revelation was authoritative and definite. Isaiah 9:2 The people walking in darkness     have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness     a light has dawned. There are tens and hundreds of millions of people in cities and rural areas living in darkness, this darkness is spiritual rather than physical or intellectual, they are in need of the Light. Jesus is the Light. He is the GREAT Light. Every nation and people on earth need Him. And the prophet here spoke in the language of prophecy. He spoke in the past tense, as if they have already seen the Light. The calling of the church is not to shine the Light on ...
