REPOSITIONING CAN MAKE YOU MORE EFFECTIVE

B Y    D A V I D     M C Q U E L Hello Everyone!   It has been a long while. The year 2022 has finally passed. And we are still here. God is to be glorified. We absolutely give God thanks.   I tried to review the year, looking backwards at my pleasure and displeasure with the year. I also did try to see where I failed, underperformed or missed the mark both set by God or by my heart. I always like to do an honest self-appraisal. I bear in mind that either lavishing praises on myself or ignoring things that should be fixed are not to my advantage. Transparency may hurt but I stand to gain first before someone else.   Here are a few things that I came to a conclusion on: 1.       I need to make certain necessary adjustments or changes or repositioning either on my character, my commitment, my determination or my effort. This is non-negotiable. I cannot continue to do things the way I did and expect a diff...

MEDICINE AND GOD, TOGETHER HEALING

B Y   D A V I D   P A M    M c Q U E L There has been this conflict between some of the bearers of faith and the bearers of science. And for a long time, many on both sides have argued that both cannot cohabit.   Those arguing for faith think it is lack of faith to look up to medicine. There are arguments is that God is able to do anything and everything. Jesus healed all the sick during the days of his ministry on earth. He is the same today as he was back then. Jesus said, with faith nothing will be impossible. Matthew 17:20   You cannot argue with that. Everything they say is true.   The other side deny miracles, healings and faith. To them it is foolishness. In fact, some who depend only on science consider talk of faith and healing as total irresponsibility and ignorance of science.   Well that is not exactly correct. I know well trained medical practitioners who personally live by faith with little or no me...

THE UNTOLD REVIVAL IN THE US MILITARY

This article has been entire taken and blogged giving full credits to Godreports blog. We are only privileged to spread this good God report.   By Josie Rabbitt Bingham — Chaplain Rondon (left) at July 29 Chapel service, when 200 soldiers gave their lives to Christ Army Chaplain Jose Rondon believes “there is nothing more exhilarating in life than seeing people come to Christ.” In the last six months, Rondon has experienced that exhilaration with more than 1,400 professions of faith — something one could describe as a spiritual awakening — at Fort Leonard Wood, his place of ministry. Because of his reputation for being intentional in his ministry, many have come to hear Rondon share the Gospel on Sundays. Soldiers packed into Chapel service “We have seen 1,459 soldiers come to Christ since March of this year,” Rondon said. “God is doing great things at Fort Leonard Wood among the hundreds of soldiers who have come to know Christ personally.” Soldiers bow their ...

AN OVERWHELMING EXUBERANCE

BY   F A I T H    S H A I B U It's January and the break for the holiday is over, resumption for the next semester commences. I decided I would take the bus down from Karu where I reside to Lokoja where I attend school on monday of the next week. My name is Sandrine, an undergraduate at Kogi State university. I'm 21, the first born of a family of five. My mum as usual have started her preparation for what I will be needing in school before my departure. In her eagerness, I know deep down she is already missing me and wished I could stay longer. Monday morning arrived so quickly and daddy woke me up to get ready so I can get to the park early. “Sandrine” “Yes dad!” I responded sluggishly. He is not like mum. African men are not supposed to be emotional. So he put up a class act. It was like he was indifferent. But I know dad, as the eldest kid, he loves to have me around, especially that I look like his mum. He feels she incarnated me...

AND SHE WALKED FORWARD

By David Pam McQuel And the girl walked forward at the end of the sermon. The young preacher had his eyes shut when he felt someone pulling at his shirt. At first he ignored it, then the pull was a little stronger. Just for a second he lost concentration, then he ended the prayer. And he looked down and saw this beautiful girl. The congregation in that little assembly stood still, and watched. What does she want? Everyone wondered. But with the preachers gifted compassionate smile he bend down and asked. Hello girl, what can I do for you? She lifted her face, and she's been crying. "I want Jesus in my heart today." Sobbing. The you preacher froze, didn't know what to say or how to say it immediately. He has been preaching for five years and two months, he has had hundreds of people sit under his ministry and yet this was such an extraordinary moment he has had just a few times. He could feel the heat of her desire. He could sense the urgency and hunge...

THE LAST STEPS

By David Pam McQuel Physical death is probably the worst effect of the curse. We will love to just live together forever with loved ones. Death comes to all, the times and methods may vary but it eventually comes. Somehow the body gets tired of fighting, gets worn out and just can't support the inner man anymore. So man returns to his Maker. In my 29 years of ministry, I have had a few occasions to officiate over burial ceremonies. Most of them people I pastored other times, total strangers. Every home going ceremony differs from the other. It is called home going because man returns to his eternal home. 2Corinthians 5:5  'For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this t...

Fear No Longer in Control

By David Pam McQuel "How old are you?" "7." I was so naïve and non-chalant unaware of the grave consequences of what I have done.My eyeballs sparkled darting around as if I was innocent. We are going to take you to school and flog you in the presence of all students, the you will keep keep your class room clean for a whole three weeks. My heart sank. Take me before two hundred students and disgrace me? What I hate, in fact, I dreaded was been put to the spot. I couldn't imagine why on earth should they be so cruel to me? I just stole a java phone! I have done worst than that, albeit not caught. Now they'd shame me. Of course, except my mum says no. That was the only condition my teacher gave. Mum wouldn't mind them hanging me. She has preached a thousand sermons weekly about honour, dignity and integrity. She has told us how much she detests being shamed If only could avoid her knowing about the phone! It was done. T...

YOUR FAITH: HIDDEN OR SHOWING?

All those who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus are children of God, irrespective of where they worship. An active faith in Christ is a result of accepting the free gift of eternal life through the sufferings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord. However, there are different ways believers chose to walk before God. More importantly, Jesus told us how to walk before Him. He left nothing our personal prejudice. In Matthew 10 where Jesus focused on soul winning and presenting the gospel to our lost world. Starting from verses 32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. 34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father,     a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against...

Sensing A Call To The Mission Field?

God calls believers to different kinds of service as it's stated in Romans 12:3 "For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully." The church needs to teach people to find their place of service in God's kingdom. Te...
