THE FATHER'S LIMITLESS CARE

B Y   D A V I D   P A M   M c Q U E L In this difficult time that we live in, we need faith and confidence to walk victoriously as believers in Christ. We all need to understand our relationship with Him and what it entails. We don’t serve a God who is remotely removed and leaves us alone to our own devices. David said, God never sleeps nor slumber. That God will not let his feet slip. David’s experiences as the writer of this psalm is a great background for this blog today. David broke records of spiritual pinnacles and spiritual lows in Scripture. Everyone can find himself somewhere in his spiritual journey. He was so spiritual that he received grace to kill a lion, a bear and Goliath. He wrote amazing prophecies and psalms. He led the whole nation to worship God and worked hard to keep a clean conscience. Then we see him get so low that he got his servant’s wife pregnant (which should have got David stoned to death), then went on to s...

FRIENDSHIP THAT WINS SOULS

BY  Z E N I T H A    V I C T O R I A    B A D A "You cannot excel in life if you want to go alone in life."                 Dr Jeffrey seif. I celebrate you all. Today I'd be talking on how friendship can bring others to Christ. Looking at the meaning of friendship from the Chrome dictionary it is defined as the relationship, bond, union between friends. These days people come into our lives and we are not sure how to categorize them, but I'll have you know that "Friends" are the most influential people in our life's that   either bring us down our pull us up. The bible speaking "Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces. " Proverbs 13:20 MSG. We need to learn to define our friend-ship with people, we need to know the the kind of "friends" we are letting into our "ship", so that when the wind blows we cou...

DEPRESSION AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH 2

B Y  Z E N I T H A    V I C T O R I A    B A D A    W I T H    D A V I D   P A M   M C Q U E L Kathryn Butler in Why Christian Love Matters in Depression wrote: The first day I ventured through the church doors, no one knew I fought the compulsion to throw myself off a bridge. Last week we looked at one of the most dreaded words DEPRESSION, which sounds simple but it has growingly become one of life's must threatening epidemic among young people. We say in definition that depression is feelings of severe despondency (low spirits from loss of hope or courage; dejection) its also a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.  We also saw that sadly people fall victim to depression because they want to do things by their strength rather than by Gods ability. When there is no respect and reverence for God, so fear, worry, anxiety become the master...

DEPRESSION AND CHRISTIAN GROWTH

By  Z E N I T H A   V I C T O R I A    B A D A I celebrate you all. Its an honor and a previlege to be given the opportunity to be part of this great platform. I pray that as we look into today's area of concentration, the Holy Spirit will minister to us. Today by God's grace I'll be talking about a very rampant and life-threatening issue: DEPRESSION AND CHRISTIAN GROWTH. As simple as it sounds it has taken a lot of lives. First I'll   like us to look into the meaning, using the Chrome dictionary.  D epression is defined as a feeling of severe despondency(low spirits from loss of hope or courage; dejection).  Its also a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.  In other words depression is a feeling of sorrow or discouragement caused by ANXIETY, and this is a way the devil is ruining lives and   turning   people away from God. As the Bible says in John 10:10...

AN ACT OF KINDNESS, LEADS TO SALVATION

D a v i d   P a m    M c Q u e l Years ago, 1990 to be precise, I met new friends, Emmanuel and Mary, a Young couple with a young son, Johnny. They were very precious to me, friends I will always remember. Life wasn't easy then, I was just a year into full time Christian ministry, precisely under tutoring. I was serving with a church which they they used to be a part of for some time before they moved to another part of town in Jos, North-Central Nigeria. They couldn't afford attending their church. A lot had been spoken in their honour, about what a good couple they were. So I hoped to persuade them to come back to church. In response, they shared this testimony. Just about when they moved their little boy was sick. It was fever, and very high. And there was no money at home. In fact, when it started, they ignored it. They believed it will soon go away. Wishing it away didn't work. Then suddenly, the fever skyrocketed. From snubbing to ...

DONT JUST WALK ACROSS THE STREET

By David Pam McQuel Justin has a very busy day ahead. How he wished there are 25 hours in a day! It could afford him sometime to do much more. He has to drop the kids of school, then speed off to the dry cleaners. Along the he realized he didn't take his tie, and hopes to get a new time from Oak St. He also needs to be in the office before 9:00am to go through his points again for the meeting he has with very important clients. What a busy day! Let's not talk about lunch and he has to squeeze some time to attend his French classes. He thought to himself: Pressure! Pressure!! Pressure!! Accompanied the scream with a slap on the steering! Jason whispered to himself, "a young man got to fight hard, keep up with the pace and outdo your competitors! Justin you can't be left behind!" Daily pressures, daily routines and daily demands are ever growing influences in our day-to-day. They encroach like termites, like a swarm of locust. There are Chr...

MAXIMUM LOVE, Christmas Special

By David Pam McQuel At Bethlehem, God demonstrated that to love is to give. It was the launch of an epic programme that will bring forth the full expression of His mercy. It was the masterpiece of His desire. John 3:16 " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life ." It was for love that Jesus came. It wasn't to prove anything or show off. It was just a simple act of God's compassion. He gave us free love. Jesus was given to us as the greatest act of God's love, not because we were God, but because of His goodness. While we were dead in our sins, set in our wicked ways, Jesus came. People show kindness to people who are kind but while we were rebellious He showed us his full kindness. What are we going to do in respect to what Christ has done for us? We as His people must respond in a certain emphatic way. Jesus illustrated this in a teaching regarding hi...

Compassion, The Melting Point

By David Pam McQuel As the millennium strolled in, my young wife and I were heading for forlough. The last year of the 20th century was quite stressful on the mission field. Although we saw lives changing, the fellowship of disciples growing we struggled with personal and family challenges. We were still early in our married life, our closeness and intimacy was our immunity against the devils whiles. Arriving home was a great moment of joy. We were seeing family,  friends and colleagues we haven't seen for years. The ministry gave us a 2-weeks break to visit our folks. What we thought would be a short furlough ended up a 3-long-years hold. I want to share a story that I encountered trying to bring a Jehovah Witness to the light. While I pastored in Keffi, a growing sub metro less than 20 kilometres from Abuja,  the political capital of Nigeria. Coming back from the mission field this church was in crisis. The ministry needed matured pastor to stabilize the s...
