THE FATHER'S LIMITLESS CARE

B Y   D A V I D   P A M   M c Q U E L

In this difficult time that we live in, we need faith and confidence to walk victoriously as believers in Christ. We all need to understand our relationship with Him and what it entails. We don’t serve a God who is remotely removed and leaves us alone to our own devices.

David said, God never sleeps nor slumber. That God will not let his feet slip. David’s experiences as the writer of this psalm is a great background for this blog today.

David broke records of spiritual pinnacles and spiritual lows in Scripture. Everyone can find himself somewhere in his spiritual journey. He was so spiritual that he received grace to kill a lion, a bear and Goliath. He wrote amazing prophecies and psalms. He led the whole nation to worship God and worked hard to keep a clean conscience.

Then we see him get so low that he got his servant’s wife pregnant (which should have got David stoned to death), then went on to scheme her husband to sleep his wife and hide his responsibility. When it didn’t work, he went on to scheme the man’s death successfully!

That’s so scary.

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

First, God’s word is lamp to our feet. A lamp does not go far. It shines only around your feet. Signifying your surrounding circumstances. God’s word helps to explain your current standing and gives you understanding on how to approach them.

Second, God’s word is light to our path. Light goes far. Our path is the direction ahead. It means God’s word is like the powerful head light of a car showing the path to the driver. It also looks like the blazing torch of the hunter in the woods that shows him far off.

God’s word has been given to us to guide us in our day to day challenges as well as for life as a whole. We can find in it the mind of God, His provisions and His guidance to get us through just anything.

How do we address personal battles with the frenzy of today’s world, that is trying hard to manipulate and influence our very lives?

The assurances we can find as God’s children are:
His Power
19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19
Jesus gave us His disciples power over all the power of the enemy. We as Christians are not a bunch of fearful timid weaklings. We are a people of His power. Certainly, from this scripture, He didn’t intend for us to be helpless in the face of the enemy.

Unfortunately, there is a large group of Christians who hold to a doctrine of weakness. They will go to any length to explain that Christianity is merely a theoretical faith. Just an intellectual thing, in the mind but the practical aspect is no more, at their best explanation. Holding to a form of godliness but denying its power.

However, man’s need has never changed. God’s help has never changed. Man’s cry to God has never changed. God’s answer to man’s cry has never changed. Man’s approach to God as laid down in the bible should not change because God’s response to our call has never ceased.

His Presence
20 “…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

One of the last things Jesus said to his disciple was that although He was physically leaving them, He was going to ever be present with them till the end of the world.

Well, the world has not ended. Sure, that promise still stands!!

It is ultimately reassuring to know that no matter what goes on down here on earth, God is not far from us. That’s why Jesus was named Emmanuel. God with us. So, for a woman who is trusting God for a child; the unemployed who is desperately looking for a job; for a sick man fighting cancer; and for a troubled business, His presence is absolutely guaranteed.

Isn’t that encouraging?

God is ever present. That is comforting. Whatever, we may be going, if we are sure He is there, we will not be scared. We will be assured of assistance and his comfort. What is the value of His presence?
1.       Father’s love
2.       His support
3.       Protection
4.       Guidance

His Promises
God made adequate provision for our every need. He cares for both our life on earth and for life aftermath. And He did not hide His thoughts and intentions. However, according to the scripture above, a lot depends on our knowledge of Him and of His provision. And in that provision, he gave us his promises.

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” 2 Peter 1:3-4

And these promises are “…very great and precious promises”.

The purpose of these promises when appropriated by the believer, is to enable him inherit and enjoy God’s provision for this life and for the life to come. It says that through them (the promises) we may “participate” in the “divine nature”.

God wants us to go beyond the human nature and participate in the divine nature. The divine nature is superior because we enjoy divine or heavenly privileges. For example, God intends that we receive His deliverance from trouble.

Is there a plan by God to protect and preserve us from the Covid-19 virus? Absolutely yes! If He God cares, and yes, He does! Will he leave us alone, exposed and helpless at the danger of a virus? I don’t think so. We can rely on his promises. Let me give a few promises in Scriptures:

25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. Exodus 23:25-26

15 The LORD will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you. Deuteronomy 7:15

6 “‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.” Jeremiah 33:6
1 “Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.” Matthew 10:1

19 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Luke 10:19

14 “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” James 5:14-15

One of the best things you can do now to help yourself is to hold on to God’s promises. Hold to what Jesus said because His words are unfailing. His word will bring health to your body. Proverbs 4:22 “for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”

If you have not received Jesus in your heart, and you have either read this article or heard the word of salvation sometimes ago, and you want to receive Jesus today, you can pray with me this simple prayer.

Father God, thank you for loving me. Thank you for sending Jesus to lay down His life for me and my sins. I open my heart to you and I invited you into my heart, to be my Lord and my Savior. Thank you for saving me. I am grateful that I am now a child of God.”

LEAH SHARIBU, THE TRIUMPH OF CONVICTION IN CHRIST

By David Pam McQuel Leah Sharibu 15 Years Old's Triumph of Faith. This unfortunate captivity of Leah Sharibu is unacceptable to Christians, to Nigeria, to all true freedom loving people of the world and to the modern civilization. AND SHE WALKED FORWARD

By David Pam McQuel And the girl walked forward at the end of the sermon. The young preacher had his eyes shut when he felt someone pulling at his shirt. At first he ignored it, then the pull was a little stronger. Just for a second he lost concentration, then he ended the prayer. And he looked down and saw this beautiful girl. The congregation in that little assembly stood still, and watched. What does she want? Everyone wondered. But with the preachers gifted compassionate smile he bend down and asked. Hello girl, what can I do for you? She lifted her face, and she's been crying. "I want Jesus in my heart today." Sobbing. The you preacher froze, didn't know what to say or how to say it immediately. He has been preaching for five years and two months, he has had hundreds of people sit under his ministry and yet this was such an extraordinary moment he has had just a few times. He could feel the heat of her desire. He could sense the urgency and hunge...

The Great Light

In 1993 during a pastor's retreat the Lord spoke to my heart in a moment of meditation and prayer, about one of the two passages of Scriptures that define my call. The moment was an intense one for me because just as my salvation, the baptism with the Holy Spirit and my calling to fulltime ministry, this revelation was authoritative and definite. Isaiah 9:2 The people walking in darkness     have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness     a light has dawned. There are tens and hundreds of millions of people in cities and rural areas living in darkness, this darkness is spiritual rather than physical or intellectual, they are in need of the Light. Jesus is the Light. He is the GREAT Light. Every nation and people on earth need Him. And the prophet here spoke in the language of prophecy. He spoke in the past tense, as if they have already seen the Light. The calling of the church is not to shine the Light on ...
