Its just a beautiful sight to see a new baby. Hardly do you see even a stranger that is not attracted to a new born. However, growing is greater. This is because every baby has the potential of a great future. He could be a great farmer one day.  He can be a teacher, a doctor or a businessman. He might turn out to be a great inventor, a lecturer, a politician or an internationally influential person. Yet, the bridge to that potential place is growth. In my previous post where the foundation for both posts was laid we established the fact that God wants Christians to live healthy spiritual lives which reflect on our been productive in the kingdom of God. I wrote, "There is a big correlation between a healthy spiritual life and productivity just like there is between a grape vine and the grape's she produces. How do you know as a Christian that you are making progress or growing? It is by the fruit you produce. Healthy spiritual growth makes us fruit-bearing Christians. Jesus passionately explained to his disciples in John 15:1-2 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." Most things start small. Chief example is human life. The biological catalysts for human life, the male sperm cannot be picked by the naked eye, yet humans of all shapes, heights and size spring out of it. Jesus Christ our Lord stated that a church that attracts the presence of God starts with a few as two or three! In His teachings through the parabolic illustrations, Jesus illustrated the kingdom of God and how it works with life of a mustard tree, whose seed is the smallest of all seeds yet exceeds all trees when planted and fully grown. Even though Jesus had large gatherings in His crusades and teaching seminars, one time they recorded 5,000 families that could total to over 20,000 people. Yet when leaving the earth to return to the Father, He left 11 men trusting them to turn the world to the Faith. In every profession, its future depends on the effort of its stakeholders to reproduce themselves. A carpenter must have apprentices for the profession to continue. Hairdressers must train younger hairdressers. The future of any art is in its ability to produce younger practitioners. So is the Christian faith. Jesus spent three years and a half to raise a few crop of people that would do exactly what he was doing. Jesus had great meetings. He held large audiences. One time he had 5,000 families in one seating. Another time the crowd was so large that some friends had to remove the roof of His house to let down a paralyzed man on a stretcher! Yet, the focus of His ministry was to produce 12 disciples who could do exactly what He was doing. At His return, 120 followers saw him off, yet His joy was in the 11 who He knew where disciples. Walking through the perfectly manicured lawn, walking towards the recently completed huge landmark excellently architectured sanctuary, I couldn't help but whisper "Thank You Jesus" for this great feat. We've come far, well far away from the ramshackle embarrassing facility we first worshipped in, through the non-ventilated stuffy hall we used for 12 years. God is good! Walking before me was a newly wed couple who grew up before us in this church and behind me was the only destist in town. Everyone in church is proud to belong to here. And so was I. This humble congregation boasts of the governor worshipping here 34 of the 52 Sundays in a year. And our church is a household name. I whispered beneath my breathe, God is good. I came to church 30 minutes before the worship begins and I have the time to welcome guest worshippers. My pastor has build a standard. And I have to be superbly dressed to my taste.
