THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE ENABLER

Right from Genesis chapter 1 to Revelation22, the presence and manifestation of the Holy Spirit is prominent. The Spirit of God is not a silent observer but a key player in God's planning and execution. Jesus had an extraordinary ministry as he walked the face of the earth. It is interesting that Jesus at age 12 knew all he needed to know about God and the Scriptures. In the temple among the most learned, astute and law experts in the Sanhedrin he demonstrated superiority and excellence that the elders of Israel were left bewildered. DEPRESSION AND CHRISTIAN GROWTH

I pray that as we look into today's area of concentration, the Holy Spirit will minister to us. Today by God's grace I'll be talking about a very rampant and life-threatening issue: DEPRESSION AND CHRISTIAN GROWTH. As simple as it sounds it has taken a lot of lives. First I'll   like us to look into the meaning, using the Chrome dictionary.  D epression is defined as a feeling of severe despondency(low spirits from loss of hope or courage; dejection).  Its also a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.  In other words depression is a feeling of sorrow or discouragement caused by ANXIETY, and this is a way the devil is ruining lives and   turning   people away from God. TENTMAKING OR RAISING SUPPORT?

It is even possible that someone had told you with conviction that tentmaking is the biblical model of supporting a missionary. People who say this are quick to tell us Jesus was a carpenter and Paul was a tentmaker. So, let us look at them one after the other. Jesus Christ Was He really a carpenter? Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us? So they were offended at Him. Mark 6:3 (NKJV) Is this not the carpenter’s Son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? Matthew 13:55 (NKJV) These are the two instances where Jesus’ carpentry background is mentioned, and they are parallel accounts. That is, both report the same events.
