Humanity's Universal Right

There has been a massive crusade in the last three decades for human rights. One of the biggest and outspoken arm of the United Nations is the United Nations Human Rights Commission. Whether it is effective or not is not the question. The fact is that it is a moral fight .

Some of the Human Rights goals are the right to life, the right to freedom of movement, the right to free speech, the right to human dignity, etc. Absolutely, when God made man, he gave full rights.

The Americans have one of the most vibrant constitution and a collection other amendments called the Bill of Rights. Americans have fought wars, start movements, had revolutions, shed human blood, made unimaginable sacrifices to protect these rights for themselves and for their unborn descendants.

However, I want to introduce you to a somewhat forgotten universal human right for all sinners, THE RIGHT TO HEAR THE GOSPEL ONCE.
Mark 16
15 He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.

Every human being has a right to hear the gospel, explained clear enough to make a choice, at least, ONCE.
It is a universal right for all humans.
All Arabs have that right.
All prostitutes have that right.
All kidnappers have that right.
All drug loads.
All criminals in all prisons of the world.
All politicians have that right.

It is the right of all children.
It is the right of all seniors.
It is the right of all other religions.
It is the right of all non-religious people.

This right is for your neighbours, it is for your colleagues, it is for your friends, it is for your parents, it is for your siblings, it is for your loved ones and it is for all those who dislike you too!

All Africans, all Europeans, all North Americans, all Asians, all South Americans, all Middle-Easterners, All Australians, all islands of the world, everyone possesses that right.

The bible never said the must all be converted. But they have a right to hear the gospel clearly set before them. The bible didn't say they will want to hear the gospel, but they need to hear it.

However, the responsibility is ours to go. The planning, the thinking, the execution, the creativity, the methods, the style of presentation, the mobilizing of the resources, the sending of the evangelists and the missionaries is ours.

Everyone who believers in the Lord Jesus, this is your primary assignment. During the dispersion created by the persecution of Saul of Tarshish, the believers who were dispersed carried the gospel everywhere they went.

Acts 8
"4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 5 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city."

They preached the Word wherever the went, as the run from Saul, the terrorist.

Who does the world owe this right? All those who confess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. God is not going to come down to give them this unique right. But we will have to make sure they hear the gospel clearly, enough to make an informed decision.

Will we give them their right or deprive them and be held accountable?

There was an important assignment and a position that the LORD almighty gave Ezekiel, that of a watchman. That parallels with our role today as a body of believers who represent God.

Ezekiel 33
"1The word of the Lord came to me: 2 Son of man, speak to your people and say to them: When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head. 5 Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someones life, that persons life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood."

Let us serve all creatures their rights.

Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, You wicked person, you will surely die, and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.”

We need to get out there and do our job, we need to give the world her right. Let every creature hear the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

For Christ died for all.

LEAH SHARIBU, THE TRIUMPH OF CONVICTION IN CHRIST

By David Pam McQuel Leah Sharibu 15 Years Old's Triumph of Faith. This unfortunate captivity of Leah Sharibu is unacceptable to Christians, to Nigeria, to all true freedom loving people of the world and to the modern civilization. Azuka Onwuka's op-ed in the Nigerian Punch newspaper, The trial of Leah Sharibu, the sacrificial lamb", When the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls were returned last week by Boko Haram terrorists , a new story developed from the kidnap saga. AND SHE WALKED FORWARD

By David Pam McQuel And the girl walked forward at the end of the sermon. The young preacher had his eyes shut when he felt someone pulling at his shirt. At first he ignored it, then the pull was a little stronger. Just for a second he lost concentration, then he ended the prayer. And he looked down and saw this beautiful girl. The congregation in that little assembly stood still, and watched. What does she want? Everyone wondered. But with the preachers gifted compassionate smile he bend down and asked. Hello girl, what can I do for you? She lifted her face, and she's been crying. "I want Jesus in my heart today." Sobbing. The you preacher froze, didn't know what to say or how to say it immediately. He has been preaching for five years and two months, he has had hundreds of people sit under his ministry and yet this was such an extraordinary moment he has had just a few times. He could feel the heat of her desire. He could sense the urgency and hunge...

The Great Light

In 1993 during a pastor's retreat the Lord spoke to my heart in a moment of meditation and prayer, about one of the two passages of Scriptures that define my call. The moment was an intense one for me because just as my salvation, the baptism with the Holy Spirit and my calling to fulltime ministry, this revelation was authoritative and definite. Isaiah 9:2 The people walking in darkness     have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness     a light has dawned. There are tens and hundreds of millions of people in cities and rural areas living in darkness, this darkness is spiritual rather than physical or intellectual, they are in need of the Light. Jesus is the Light. He is the GREAT Light. Every nation and people on earth need Him. And the prophet here spoke in the language of prophecy. He spoke in the past tense, as if they have already seen the Light. The calling of the church is not to shine the Light on ...
